Villages celebrates localism

Alderton Village celebrated "localism" in action when the recent Charles Church Development was refused by Tewkesbury Borough after the village had put up a strong argument as to why the development was a bad idea. Over 90% of Alderton participated in a local survey and a great many of the village worked in producing a professional objection and in sending objections to our local MP and the Tewkesbury planning committee. Pet poop![]() Please can all dog owners be responsible and pick up their little pets poo! There have been a number of complaints recently and it is not nice to stand in. Please be aware it is also an offence.

About AldertonAlderton in the 21st century is a thriving community both proud of its history and agricultural heritage and its present day diverse range of community activities. It boasts several picturesque listed buildings and a 14th century style Parish Church dedicated to St Margaret of Antioch which contains relics of an earlier Saxon structure.
Alderton still has a Post Office with general store, a thriving junior school, Village Hall, the Gardeners Arms public house, a garage with filling station, playing fields, allotment gardens with a community composting scheme and a newly formed Charitable Community Trust. Winchcombe (4 miles), Evesham (8 miles), Tewkesbury (8 miles) and Cheltenham (11 miles) are all within a short drive. Alderton is approximately 100 miles west of London, 45 miles north of Bristol and 45 miles south of Birmingham.
