ST MARGARET’S CHURCH CHRISTMAS FAIR It was great to have the Fair well attended which gave it a lovely atmosphere so we really appreciated people joining us. It raised an excellent £3,000 which will be put towards the new Church heating system and for the upkeep of our heritage building. Thank you to everyone for your kindness in giving your donations, for attending, for helping and for the craft makers. CHRISTMAS CAROL AND CHRISTINGLE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE A great attendance with a good variety of carols sung, Christingle oranges handed out and £359.53 was raised for the Children’s Society - a very generous amount. CAROL SINGING Because of wind and rain we had this in the Church but again we enjoyed singing favourite carols and warming up with mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies. From donations, we made £73 for the Samaritans – thank you again. THANK YOU To all the people who help keep the Church an important feature of the village and in good condition - the bellringers. the clock winders, the cleaners, the flower arrangers, the lawnmowers, the fundraisers - you are very much appreciated. ‘IF ONLY YOU KNEW WHAT MADE FOR PEACE’ - SUNDAY 15TH FEBRUARY, FROM 2PM PARISH HALL, TEWKESBURY ABBEY, GL20 5RZ We are incredibly fortunate to welcome The Very Rev’d Canon Richard Sewell, Dean of St George’s College, Jerusalem, to Tewkesbury Abbey. Living and serving in the heart of the Holy Land since 2018, Dean Richard has become a globally respected spokesperson and a regular voice on international media regarding the tragedies in Israel and Palestine. With a background in major inter-faith projects and decades of ministry, he offers a rare, eyewitness perspective on the conflict. His "radical empathy" and deep theological insight provide a unique bridge across bitter divides. In a time of simplified headlines, this is a vital opportunity to hear a nuanced, compassionate reflection on the "way of peace" from someone at the centre of the situation. For more information contcat [email protected] OAK HILL CoE PRIMARY SCHOOL https://www.oakhill.gloucs.sch.uk/ The longer days are on their way, and our Eco Club has been busy planting and benefiting from kind donations from our village community. Our used battery box is already full. Thank you to Freeman Homes for donating a cooker. With Rev’d Hook’s support, the children have created a prayer board now displayed in the church. Several volunteers also joined the whole school on our recent visit to Gloucester Mosque and Cathedral — a thoroughly enjoyable event. Thank you for your continued support. We are so grateful to be part of such a supportive community. Some of the Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils went to the Young Voices concert - pupils took to the stage to perform amongst almost 6000 children at Birmingham's BP Arena to a huge audience of adults. Alongside our Primary QuEST peers, we sang, danced and laughed through a wonderful and extremely memorable afternoon and evening. A team of 6 Redwood class pupils attended the Move More swimming gala, and came 4th overall. We also won the largest splash category! Our thanks to the members of our Local Advisory Group, FOOHS and our volunteers - you really do make so many things possible and it is a joy to share these experiences. We continue to seek Local Advisory Board members - please get in touch or call in to see us if you can offer your time and skills. We have much planned for the remainder of the term including a train trip for Rowan class and Knex challenge for Years 3-6 with more oracy events on the horizon too.
