OAK HILL Cof E SCHOOL https://www.oakhill.gloucs.sch.uk/ / [email protected] Alison Sharkey & Robyn Ball It's hard to believe that we are on the last day of the half term already, the last 4 weeks have flown by in a blur of SATs, sports and so much incredible work being done by the children and staff! For Mental Health week, on Tuesday, Redwood and Elm completed a circular walk from Alderton to Dumbleton. The weather was beautiful! All the children showed great determination, perseverance, friendship and respect. On Wednesday, Rowan class had the morning at the park, where they played on the park, completed a 'Wellbeing Walk' finding words to match pictures, played games and finished it all off with a picnic lunch. The weather was kind to us and we managed to avoid the rain. Being outside, walking and amongst nature has many benefits to our mental health and wellbeing such as: improves mood, helps reduce stress and anxiety, improves confidence and self-esteem as well as improving fitness. Finishing the term focusing on our vision and helping the children understand and value our school vision was a perfect way to end the term. Throughout the day we have explored spirituality, our values, love and created artwork that will be a part of our school moving forward. The children engaged in conversations, listening to each other and the staff to help understand how In love, we can learn, grow and flourish. We all hope for a lovely restful week and a fresh return to a number of trips, swimming, rounders, cricket. rugby and athletics with sports day and the summer term performance to complete the schedule.
