We are a small village shop and post office specialising in good, local produce and supplies. Bread, milk, papers daily. Deli goods, Gloucester Old Spot bacon, ham, local cheeses
​and local veg when possible. Friendly and helpful service from local people with local
​knowledge!

Oak Hill
​School

Oak Hill School is a Church of England voluntary controlled primary school for pupils from
4-11 years. 
The school was formed from the amalgamation
​of Alderton and Dumbleton primary schools in 1981. This has enabled both villages to retain their school - a vital ingredient of village life.

Alderton Acorns are a Pre-School and  Toddler group who meet weekly in Alderton Village
Hall, a bright, spacious and centrally heated space. We have qualified staff, two outside
play areas and our own large range of play equipment
​which is constantly updated and added to.

Alderton Village Hall is a meeting place for the community of Alderton and for many other visitors. The Hall is available to hire on a one-off or regular basis and is a central part of the community with Alderton Acorns Pre-School meeting there daily during term time and holding regular village

Alderton's Playing Field has a new pavilion, playground and seating in 2018. The pavilion provides changing facilities and a small kitchenette for Alderton FC and other village events and a playground with swings, slides, a roundabout and climbing towers and a brand new safe play surface to keep everyone safe!

Defibrillator

Alderton's defibrillator can be found at: Old red telephone box, Cambridge Square, Alderton, GL20 8TZ. The telephone box is at the junction of Blacksmiths Road, Beckford Road and School Road and the defibrillator is available 24 hs per day, 365 days per year.

Note: you can’t call 999 from the telephone box as the line isn't connected anymore so you'll need to call from a mobile, go home or ask a local resident. ​ The defibrillator is designed for use by non-experts and will talk you through its use.

Milk deliveries

Family run-firm Cotteswold Dairy has a dairy and depot in Tewkesbury supplied by farms from Gloucestershire and ​delivers door-to-door in Alderton and surrounding villages. They deliver milk, cream, butter, eggs and juices, amongst other products.

Broadband

Alderton is connected to the fibre network enabling 'superfast' broadband with download speeds of ​up to 76 Mbps. There are currently no 'full fibre' (fibre to the home) providers in Alderton. All major broadband providers can use the existing network.​
