Reg Moule from BBC Radio GloucestershireIt has just been confirmed that we have been able to book Reg Moule, Radio Gloucestershire's gardening expert as our first guest speaker on Thursday 12 April, 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Details to follow in next month's newsletter
In 1972, he went to work at Mythe Nurseries, Tewkesbury, intending only to stay for a short time. He was promoted to manager and remained in that post for 25 years, until his move to Hurrans Garden Centres.
Reg has been BBC Radio Gloucestershire's gardening guru since the station opened in 1988. He has been the Royal Horticultural Society's Local Radio Gardening Expert of the Year and has won the Gardeners' Writers Guild Gardening Radio Award several times. At one time, he appeared weekly on three BBC local radio stations after reputation of his broadcasting skills spread. Now he heads our panel of experts in BBC Radio Gloucestershire's popular series Gardeners' Questions. He has helped to sort out listeners' gardening problems on BBC Radio 2, and worked on a television series called Gardeners' Diary, giving hands-on tips and advice. Reg says: "I feel that one of the reasons why listeners enjoy my programmes is because I try to make things entertaining, as well as giving people the information they need to get more enjoyment from their gardens."
