Our waitresses will be ready to take your orders between 2.30 and 4.30pm. Cost: £5 per head for scones, cream and jam plus tea or coffee. There is no charge for entry but donations towards the repairs of St Margaret's Church are really welcome. We keep costs as low as possible but please be generous if you can afford more! Children are welcome; squash and small cakes available for under 14s. Pay the waitress when ordering and don’t forget to visit the stalls before you leave. A great event for the whole community - don’t miss it!

Centenary of the Great War - an evening of stories and songs marking the contribution made by the people of Alderton to the First World War.
Sad,funny and remarkable, the programme for this event gives you the chance to hear some of the real-lifestories that lie behind the names on our war memorial and sing along to popular songs of the day. You can also view a display of memorabilia collected from residents. To be followed on Sunday 11th November at 11 am: Notice of a special service of remembrance marking the centenary of the Armistice at the War Memorial. Alderton’s Summer Supper will be held on Saturday 25th August from 6 – 8pm in the Churchyard (Village Hall if wet) There will be a 2 course supper served, with a bar available. Tickets priced £7.50 for adults, £5for children, are available from Ivona McIlwraith 620688 and Helen West 620587. Please join us for a social summer evening of food, wine, chat and background music. All proceeds go to the Church building funds.
Celebrate summer with the Happenstance Morris dancers, and enjoy coffee and cake, raffle and tombola, craft and produce stalls, outdoor games and activities at Alderton’s annual church fete. Stalls also available in the church and a display of vintage cars in the Old Rectory garden.

Come along to St Margaret's Church Food and Fizz evening in Alderton Churchyard on Saturday June 11th starting at 6pm. Karen Cox's woodwind group will be playing background music and there will be an exhibition of royal memorabilia in the Church to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Tickets are £5 and include canapes. There will be a pay bar.

Come and join us on Midsummer's Eve, Saturday June 20th for drinks (fizz, wine and soft drinks) and appetisers in Alderton Churchyard and a chance to enjoy jazzing middle of the road music by a Jazz Quartet, together with socialising with friends.
Tickets are £5 (for food) for adults and children over 10 years and children under 10 years £3. All are very welcome. This year we're also holding a photography competition on the theme of Alderton is a Way of Life. There's an entry fee of 50p per photograph with prizes for the winners of the adult and 16 and under classes. Entries should be submitted as prints to the Village Hall between 5-7pm on Friday 10th July or in advance to Ros Smith at 7 Church Road. All are welcome and there is no entry charge. Alderton residents, please bring your Gift Day envelopes with you. There will also be a box in the village shop and the church for donations. Please give generously to help us repair the bells in our village church and preserve it for the future. |
