Alderton Village Newsletter - October 2023Note from Editor:
Firstly, welcome back Yari. Not only did we miss him as a person, but with both Alderton and Winchcombe Post Offices being closed I, for one, realised what an asset it is to the village. Thank you to the Allotment Association and the allotment holders for the ‘Sharing Bench’. Times are hard and I know it has helped villagers who are struggling to make ends meet. Finally, please support the village New Year’s Eve Party in the Village Hall. It will bring us all together and save a lot on taxi fares! There is now a report from Gloucestershire Highways raising a number of issues with the proposal. PROPOSED NEW DEVELOPMENT – Land East of St Margaret’s Drive [was 55, now 48 houses] The Parish Council now awaits details of the full Planning application. PROPOSED NEW DEVELOPMENT – Land West of Willow Bank Road [Now 48 houses] The proposal has been revised and the number of houses reduced from 56 to 48. The Parish Council have already indicated to Tewkesbury Planning that this does not remove their concerns about the application and have submitted a further objection to confirm this. The proposal may go to the October Planning Committee. |
