Alderton Village Newsletter - December 2023Note from Editor: Where has this year gone?! December promises to be a busy and joyful month in the village. Starting with the church fair on Saturday 2nd and ending with the New Year’s Eve Party on 31st! A villager has asked me to politely remind everyone that the Highway Code for passing horses is at 10mph. I’ve been told most people are very courteous, but we don’t want any horses or riders injured. PROPOSED NEW DEVELOPMENT – Land West of Willow Bank Road [Now 48 houses] This proposal went to the November Planning Committee. The Parish Council, a local resident and one of our Councillors spoke in opposition. There followed considerable debate in which we received support from our local Councillors but on a split vote the proposal was eventually agreed. Those who voted for the proposal, in general, accepted that Alderton should not have any further development of this magnitude but believed that a case could not be won at Appeal in light of a series of recent decisions by Planning Inspectors. The agreed proposal provides for full planning permission. |
