I know the move to being predominantly online is a controversial one, but paper copies will always be available for anyone who can’t access this online. The idea was not mine, initially, but requested by a villager. The positives of going digital are:

DATE OF NEXT PARISH COUNCIL MEETING 18 April 2023 3. ALDERTON & GREAT WASHBOURNE NEWS GARDENING CLUB - Phil Kitson The freezing February evening weather didn't deter the attendees for the latest AGC meeting. A brilliant turnout of 60 was one of the highest since our return from the Covid lockdown. Our guest speaker was the chatty gardener, Mandy Bradshaw, talking about “Four Seasons - Cotswold Style”. She took us on a tour of some great gardens in our area. Beginning in Winter with Colesbourne Park, Painswick Rococco garden and Cotswold Farm snowdrops near Cirencester. Then onto spring with Westonbirt Arboretum, Lydney Park and Trench Hill, Sheepscombe. Summer views of the borders at Miserden park were stunning as were the pleached hedges and canal at Temple Guiting Manor. The rose gardens at Sudeley Castle were magnificent. In Autumn we saw views of Batsford Arboretum with the wonderful leaf colours of the Cherry and Acer trees, and the planted borders of Aston pottery. The last garden was Cerney House which is great for interest throughout the four seasons. Tom gave us jobs and tips for February, including seed sowing, pruning, and dividing snowdrops. Trip to RHS Wisley There is a trip to RHS Wisley on the 17th of June, the AGM on March the 16th and Chris Beardshaw tickets for our September meeting are on sale to members. These will be available to non-members in March. Next meeting Our next meeting is on March the 9th with Chris Evans from Dundry Nurseries, talking about his charity "The Butterfly Garden".
